On a road trip, carry frozen packs in a cool box with plenty of ice packs and put them in a freezer as soon as you arrive. If you'll be away, move or skip your next delivery before you go. In a power cut, keep the freezer closed and check each pack when the power is back.

Road trips with your pet

  1. Pack straight from the freezer into a cool box or insulated bag with plenty of ice packs.
  2. Keep it out of the sun. In the Saudi heat, the air-conditioned cabin is far better than a hot boot.
  3. Bring a thawed pack for day one in the same cool box, so the first meal is ready.
  4. On arrival, frozen packs go into a freezer. Any pack that has softened goes into the fridge, is used within 4 days and is never refrozen.

Going away?

A frozen box can't wait at the door. Before you travel, choose one of these so nothing arrives while you're away:

Power cut or freezer breakdown

  1. Keep the freezer door closed as much as you can while the power is off.
  2. For a long outage, move packs to a working freezer (a neighbour's or family's) or into a cool box with ice.
  3. When the power is back, check each pack:
