How much freezer space do I need?

Practical tips to fit your Soluky packs in, and what to do if your freezer is small.

Most homes manage with a regular kitchen freezer. Our packs are flat, so they stack neatly, and the space you need depends on your pet's size and how often you get deliveries: more frequent deliveries mean fewer packs to store at once.

What decides how much space you need

  • Your pet's daily amount. A cat eats from small 150 g packs; a large dog gets through 500 g packs much faster.
  • Your delivery frequency. Every week, every 2 weeks or every 4 weeks. Every 4 weeks means the biggest box.
  • Extras. Bone broths also go in the freezer. Treats don't (they're dehydrated).

You can see how many packs each delivery holds on your plan in My Plans.

Make room before the box arrives

  1. Clear a shelf or drawer the day before. Frozen food can't wait on the counter while you rearrange.
  2. Take packs out of the delivery box. Only the packs go in the freezer, not the outer box or insulation.
  3. Lay packs flat and stack them like books on their side, or in neat piles.
  4. Put new packs at the back and use the older ones first.
  5. Move tomorrow's pack to the fridge straight away. That's one less pack to fit.

Feeding a dog and a cat? Keep their packs on separate shelves so nobody grabs the wrong one at mealtime.
