How many treats a day?
A commonly cited guideline is to keep treats under about 10% of your pet's daily calories. Your pet's daily calories are shown on their card in My Pets in your dashboard. For example, if your dog needs about 600 kcal a day, treats should stay around 60 kcal or less.
- Break liver and heart treats into small pieces. Rich treats go a long way.
- On busy training days, or if you give lots of treats, keep the total in check and watch your pet's weight.
- During a food switch, pause extra treats so you can see how your pet is doing on the new meals.
Always supervise chews, choose a size that suits your dog, and keep fresh water available. Treats are rewards and extras, not a complete meal.
Storing treats
Treats are dehydrated, not frozen. Keep them sealed in a cool, dry place.
Subscribers can add treats once or on every renewal: add extras to your next box.
