A 2021 study published in the Journal of Animal Science showed that dogs fed human-grade food found fresh single-protein meat diets can also positively alter a dog’s microbiome, meaning healthier bowel movements and firmer poops!
Dogs that eat real food have fewer general health issues and a more robust immune system. In humans and animals, gut health is linked to physical and mental health; an imbalanced gut microbiome can lead to chronic health conditions. A healthy gut means a healthy life!
Why We Started SolukyAs three lifelong animal lovers and dog owners, we grew dissatisfied with the quality of food we were compelled to feed our pets! We looked at the improvement in food quality and nutritional knowledge leading to benefits in our lives and wondered why the same knowledge wasn’t being implemented for our dogs.
To make a change, we decided we had to be the change. We dedicated ourselves to improving the lives and healthy longevity of pets in Saudi. Working with a globally acknowledged pet nutritionist, we started producing Soluky pet meals at home and tested them on ourselves as well as our dogs!

We noticed the spread of cheap, processed pet foods across the Saudi market and saw how levels of pet illness were rising at the same time. Rashes, allergies, stomach conditions, and even levels of cancer have risen over recent years. We felt it was time to make a change for the sake of our pets.
Caring for pets is rooted in Saudi culture and heritage, and to support this, we realized we had to find a way to provide them with the nutrition nature intended for them to eat. No more processed meat derivatives, no more poor-quality grains. We wanted only fresh for our pets – the same quality as we feed ourselves.
We’ve worked with pet nutritionists and researched the science behind natural food for pets ourselves. We started producing Soluky meals at home with family and friends, cooking and even tasting them ourselves. Feeding our pets personalized Soluky diets, we’ve seen for ourselves how the smarter way to give our pets a healthy future.
The vast majority of pet food sold in Saudi Arabia is imported. By establishing a kitchen in Riyadh, we’re helping support the local economy and buying locally sourced ingredients. We’re pet lovers, we’re local, we’re accountable. Above all, we’re dedicated to improving the quality of the lives of pets in Saudi Arabia.
About the FoundersSoluky was founded in 2024 by Ibrahim Alsanousi, Omar Malaika, and Reem Al Saud, three devoted dog and cat owners united by a belief that better nutrition is the foundation of a healthier, more vibrant life for pets. Driven by personal experience and a shared passion for animal well-being, they set out to raise the standard of pet diets in Saudi Arabia.
Rooted in a belief that everyday choices shape overall well-being, Soluky reflects the spirit of the Quality of Life Program under Saudi Vision 2030, contributing to a culture that values healthier lifestyles and a higher quality of life across the Kingdom.
